A to Z Mover's Service Area

A to Z Movers services mainly the Baltimore City Metro area and the surrounding counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Columbia 21044, 24045, 214046 and Howard. In addition to all of these counties we service all of Maryland and those coming and going to and from the DC Metro.

With movers around most of these counties daily, we can often tackle same-day and emergency moves. While we can’t guarantee the ability to do same-day moves, we can almost always do them next day. Give us a call though if you get in a jam and chances are good that if you’re in any of these areas we can get service to you quickly, again, sometimes even on the same day.

The exception which sometimes applies is during the end of the month rush. As most leases end around the last few and the first few days of the month, we tend to be booked up fairly solid during these times. Again, when moving, the best laid plans of mice and men often break down; houses don’t close, new leases fall through and a myriad of other reasons. Due to all these factors, there always remains a good chance we can be of service so give us a call and see what we can do for you in the event of emergencies.

Whether it’s across the street,  across the state or even the DC Metro area, A to Z Movers provides a wide variety of moving services that can move you anywhere in Maryland and beyond! Regardless if you book a day before or a month, A to Z Mover’s  goal is to satisfy and keep you calling us back for your relocation needs in the future.

Anne Arundel County

With a population of over half a million includes the cities of Annapolis, Annapolis Junction, Arnold, Brooklyn Park, Cape Saint CLaire, Crofton, Crownsville, Deale, Ferndale, Fort Meade, Glen Burnie, Hanover, Jessup, Linthicum, Londontowne, Maryland City, Edgewater (aka Mayo), Odenton, Parole, Pasadena, Riva, Riviera Beach, Selby on the Bay, Severn, Severna Park, Shady Side, South Gate, Bristol, Churchton, Galesville, Germantown, Gibson Island, Hanover (a portion is also in Howard County), Harmans, Harundale, Harwood, Jacobsville, Lothian, Millersville, Orchard Beach, Owensville, Riverdale, Russett, Sherwood Forest, Sudley, Tracy’s Landing, Wayson’s Corner, West River, Winchester on the Severn, Woodland Beach.

As most know, Anne Arundel County hosts the Capitol city of Annapolis.  Anne Arundel County was one of the most influential and victorious strongholds of the eastern seaboard in the wars that forged the United States of America.   On the battlefields of our Revolutionary war, Anne Arundel County supplied troops for 3 Regiments of the Continental Army.  Just decades later in the War of 1812, the short term memory of the Brits improved considerably.  Once again the undergunned Americans showed the supposedly superior Royal Navy that  keeping a reverent distance from Annapolis was a prudent method of keeping one’s ship afloat.  Anne Arundel County has made an impressive mark on the National Register of Historic Places.

Baltimore City

Moving in Baltimore City and it’s 650,000+ residents is about as diverse a city as one could imagine.  From the million dollar plus condos and mansions with boarded ghettos just blocks away.  It can be misleading to outsiders to say you’re from Baltimore City as life in Canton and Fells Point vs Highlandtown and Westside are worlds apart.  Known affectionately as “Charm City and the “Biggest small town in the US”,  Baltimore is a major seaport which started amassing the lucky few’s fortunes importing tobacco in the early 1700s.  The Port of Baltimore, the area of Fells Point  and the Townes of Baltimore and Jonestown only becoming the incorporated city of Baltimore in 1797.  The city of Baltimore remained a part of Baltimore County until 1851 when it was separated and regarded as an Independant city.  Baltimore was at one point in the Revolutionary war the Capitol of the US.    Suffice it to say, Baltimoreans have quite a bit of well deserved pride in their city.   Gambling, Pro Football, Pro Baseball, Pro Club Soccer, several world champion boxers and olympians, City Parks, the Zoo, Aquarium, Inner Harbor, The infamous “Block”,  a rumored GP track in the works and of course the World Champion Super Bowl winning Ravens featuring our Bird of Prey.   Baltimore is one of great cities to live in.   Haven’t even mentioned the seafood yet.  Keeping your ship afloat in B’more has never become easier since the colts scurried away leaving the Ravens in charge with the ultimate influencer.  We’ll win again.  this man gives us inspiration.

Some of the neighborhoods in Baltimore include the upscale Fells Point, Canton, Mount Vernon and the Inner Harbor areas.  Close by are the renovated Patterson Park, Highlandtown, , Butcher Hill and Hampden.  Some of the more adventurous areas include Brooklyn Park, Irvington,  Cherry Hill, Park Heights and Westside to name a few.  It’s essential to have experienced movers due to the tight streets and extremely efficient use of building space used to put so many full sized homes in such small areas in many neighborhoods.

Baltimore City sports some fine golf facilities at Forest Park, Mt Pleasant, Carrol Park and Clifton Park.  Cheap golfing but when the stars align properly some years the courses can be in fantastically playable condition.   Mt Pleasant  in particular which at one point in it’s history hosted both  PGA and Senior PGA stops, including Arnold Palmer’s second win of his pro career.

Pigtown, or Washington Hill is one of the more colorfully nicknamed towns in Baltimore.  This name coming from it’s role in the 1800′s as the B&O Railroads “pig run” through Ostend and Cross streets to the slaughterhouses in South Baltimore.

Some of the most famous parts of town being Camden Yards, home of the Orioles and of course Johns Hopkins; the world famous medical center.

No post about Baltimore would be complete without mentioning it’s Markets.  Some of the finest, most diverse and well priced eateries I’ve seen along the entire east coast.  These include Fells Point’s Broadway Market, Cross Street Market, Northeast Market, Hollings Market, Avenue Market (aka Lafeyette) in Druid Hill and the most impressive of all imo; Baltimore’s Lexinton Market.  From the freshest seafood all types including live octupi to chitterlings,  rattlesnake and a surprisingly tasty variety of headcheese, brains and organs of all types.   There’s an adventure in food in Baltimore quite unlike anywhere else I’ve been.  This is barely a start, I’ve left out a countless number of Baltimore’s neighborhoods and attractions.

Howard County

A booming population of 274,995, Howard County keeps movers busy in Columbia, Elkridge, Ellicott City (Olde Towne is a must see), Jessup, Savage,, Clarksville, Cooksville, Daniels, Dayton, Fulton, Glen Elg, Glenwood, Granite, Hanover, Lisbon, Marriottsville, Scaggsville, Sykesville, Woodbine, Woodstock. You’ll notice several of these are also in the other counties listed, many of them cross over into two counties. It could be a close number regarding how many Columbians work in DC vs Maryland.  Columbia is strategically placed between the two Metropoli  but the traffic is somehow not so bad as one might think compared to the DC Metro’s infamously choked 495 beltway.   It’s not uncommon to spend a half hour to go 1/2 mi on 495 during rush hour.
